Shadow eventually quiets down sitting up and clawing at the carpet. "No please don't go please, please stay we need you" He whispered clawing furiously. He collapsed and curled up into a little black feathery ball, his skin glowing a bright blue, his eyes beaming the vibrant color.

Shadow was curled up like that for hours before the glow dimmed at his body relaxed. He sat up slowly and blinked a few times. "Hey. How long have I bee-What happened to your eye?" Shadow asked approaching her.

Kat covers her eye with a hand, hiding the bruises. "Nothing bad, it's fine. " She lies, seeming uneasy and a tad nervous. "Anyways, are you okay? You were out for hours." She says, trying to change the subject.

"No Kat what happened to your eye." Shadow continued firmly. He looked around the house. "Did someone break in? What happened?" He asked not trying to be to intimidating. He gently shrugged her hand aside and looked at the bruises, her eye having swollen a bit. He popped his knuckles out of habit and looked down at his knuckles from an unfamiliar sting on his knuckles on contact. He looked down at his knuckles the skin only barely split. "Kat...what happened...while I was...out?" He whispered terrified of her answer.

Katia hesitated. "You um... You were running around... Upset... I tried to calm you down, you were hiding in a closet... I got hurt... And you ran off and collapsed on the carpet for a while..." She answers quietly, dreading his reaction.

Shadow got up and huffed angrily. He walked off into the kitchen and filled a bag with ice handing it to her and sliding down the wall. The backs of his hands revealed a crest the same as the one on his chest, glowing a bright blue. HE ran a hand through his hair. "So...I...did...that.." Shadow said his voice ragged and shaky. He checked his watch for the date, furious he had lost track of the days.

Kat is silent, unable to deny what happened. She sits quietly and uneasily, holding the ice up to her eye while the other watched the ground. The list she had made hours ago lay near them, things she needed to do before fighting the demon that had challenged her lay face up, scribbled in black ink.

"Well shit." Shadow breathed feeling guilty. "C'mere." Shadow said leading her up to his room. He pulled out a small tube of a white liquid. "Here, lemme just.." Shadow said taking some on his finger, and barely touching her, dabbed it across and around her eye. "Sorry." HE said wiping away the excess of the cream. "I should have kept better track of the days. Every year I repeat my age's worth of events form my past. It's the main reason why were called loopers. We are on loop from the past making everything so hard to forget. Which also means my birthday is either soon or happened recently. I don't really know. I'm 18 now...er....will be..." Shadow explained his voice still sounding hoarse.

"It's fine... And in that case, happy birthday... or possibly early birthday." She replies quietly, trying and failing to use a happier tone.

Shadow went and grabbed the paper from the bottom floor and returned handing it to her. He sat behind her, his arms around her waist resting his chin on her shoulder. "What's this?" He asked curiously, obviously trying to rid the room of it's tension.

"Stuff I need to do in preparation for the fight... That guy's way higher ranked than me... And I don't even have a hint as to what the name he holds might be..." She says, obviously a bit frightened.

"Hrmmm....are there rules on what you can and can't use or bring into the fight?" Shadow asked thinking of how he could possibly help.

"Only rule is that you can't back out. And that only one person leaves. " She answers, looking over her list again. It read: " -Talk to father about your armor. -Contact Joker, Kazia, and Distortion. -Get Redd and snow -Use poison on Scythe -Don't die."

"In that case I can get Cori to send me some stuff and I'll visit my uncle again to get me some powders. And I'll ask Mel to come and stay with us for a day or so to refresh me on my incantations and spells. If I can help I'd like to be at least slightly useful." He said looking over her list. "And With us combined, c'mon if we can take out Greed together we can handle these guys. Promise." Shadow said his voice sounding much more relaxed than he was.

Kat seems a bit calmer after he speaks. "Okay, but please be careful... And... Be honest... You know I was no help against Greed... All I did was ... Satisfy, him for a while..." She says quiety, actually trembling a bit as she recalled the short, but horrible time spent with the demon. "I didn't help."

"Yes you did I wouldn't have been able to do that if I hadn't had your friends to help and they wouldn't know if it hadn't been for you. Plus, you gave me motivation to slaughter his stupid exsistance. You helped. Don't even make me laugh." Shadow said his voice chipper. He reached around texting Corinth with his arms still wrapped around her awkwardly.

Kat relaxes a bit, pushing the memories from her mind. "If you say so." She replies, though her tone was a bit lighter.

"So what now boss lady?" Shadow said sending the message.

"Right now, I'm tired. Can I sleep a bit?" She replies calmly, turning her head a bit to look at him, eyes purple.

"I'm not one to tell you no." Shadow said laughing slightly at her request.

Kat smiles lightly. "In that case, I'll be right back. I want to take a shower real fast." She says, gently moving his arms so that she could get up.

Shadow watches her leave and crawls under the sheets, feeling a bit drowsy himself. He watched the blue crests on the back of either hand for a moment trying to translate the ancient text. Shadow attempted multiple times to understand what the crests meant though failed in finding a full translation. Something about the moon and a soldier but nothing for sure.

Kat takes a short shower, noticing that she could feel a few of the nails in her back now, though they hurt to touch and she still couldn't see them. She gets out and dries off, then slips on a loose shirt and some pajama pants before pausing to look at her eye. The bruises stuck out against her paler skin, becoming painfully obvious and attention grabbing. She sighs, knowing she'd have to come up with some lie when facing her father and friends. After a minute she walks back and curls up in the bed. "Merrr... Goodnight, or day, or whatever. Sweet dreams." She says drowsily.

Shadow chuckled and mumbled a goodnight at her as she entered the room.
