Kat laughs again, now pulling the second box out. It had a little purple ribbon on it, but otherwise was plain. She opens it up and finds the inside littered with several sharp metal pieces, barbs for her tail. She smiles lightly. Her family all had some sort of blade or barb on their tails but her, so her dad had made her one.

"That's really cool. Do you have an armory or something?" Shadow asked coming up behind her to look at the pieces.

"Yeah, my dad does. And making armor and weapons is kinda his hobby. He's got like 23 sets of armor just for himself, and he's made me like three sets through the years. " She says, pulling out the main piece for her tail. It was a large, wicked looking blade with patterns of lyndworms on it.

"Damn this stuff is way cool." Shadow said watching it. shine int he dim blueish moon light that streamed through the window. He repacked his box and removed the bags on his belt. "Kat can I...Can I show you something...?" Shadow asked his throat suddenly feeling dry.

"Yeah, go for it." Kat answers, setting the piece back in the box carefully and turning her attention to him.

"C'mon then...Uh...yeah" Shadow stuttered gingerly taking her hand, leading her outside. He held her hand, his becoming sweaty and awkward though it was hard to tell in the cold dry air. He led her away from the house and up to a slightly elevated snow bank. He looked down to her resting his head on her forehead. "Kat...I...with this fight and everything....I....I just need you.....to be ok.....and...." Shadow said his voice shaky. his hair, having flattened on his head, just barely hiding the tears welling in his eyes.

Kat shifts, now holding him in a tight hug, her fear showing itself as she tried not to break down into tears again. "I-It'll be okay though... I'll make it out... It's a fifty-fifty chance, not that hard..." She says a bit shakily, trying to calm him and herself.

"No Kat...I....I can't......I can't handle that..I need to know.....I need.....you....here.....alive....." Shadow rasped. He wrapped his wings around both of them easily and held her by the waist. "Promise me you'll be ok...Kat please.....I don't say this...often...ever..but...I'm afraid..." He whispered holding her tighter, on the brink of not being able to breath himself but this was not a problem for him right then.

She draws closer to him, barely holding back tears. "I-I.. I promise... I will make it back... No matter what..." She says shakily, knowing the odds of the fight weren't in her favor, but that the chance was still there.

Shadow nodded not having the strength to reply to her. He pulled his head from over her shoulder and pressed his lips to hers THe moment wreaked hope and fear and the air seemed to cease existance. The stars illuminating a thousand times brighter .

Kat calms just a bit, feeling safe and warm, the kiss wiping her fears away for the moment. She wanted more than anything for the fight to be no more, and to just stay with Shadow, without the fears and constant need to run or fight. If things could just be simpler, if there weren't so many things out of their hands.

Shadow released her from the moment feeling much more grounded within himself. "You'll be ok. You're smart. I'm sure." Shadow said running his hands over his face. He wrapped his wing around her, walking towards the house as the snow stopped falling.

"Ill do everything I can to come back..." Kat says quietly, glad to have his wing around her, the feathers comforting and warm.

"You wouldn't mind if I was there would you?" Shadow asked suddenly aware that he knew nothing about the customs of these kinds of fights, feeling stupid for not figuring things out earlier.

"Of course not... Plus there's the fact that it's partly an ownership thing... I need to bring you. Plus anyone can come, a lot of people watch the fights for fun and bet on them so...yeah" She says.

"Good." Shadow said folding up his wings and opening the back door. He collapsed on the couch stretching much like a cat before curling up in a tiny ball. "I feel like a rolly polly." Shadow commented incredulously.

Kat sits down by the couch, a light smile on her lips. "I know what you're being next Halloween." She comments idly, a few thoughts rushing around in her head.

Shadow raised his eyebrows righting himself. "Oh? And what's that my dear?" Shadow asked genuinely curious as to what she had in mind. "Even though that's slightly less than a year from now. There's like three weeks to thanksgiving I think...."

"Never to early to start planning~ and a rolly polly. think about it, you'd look fabulous." She jokes.

Shadow facepalmed and started rolling about on the floor untill he felt sick. Shadow stumbled about trying to walk in a straight line and failing miserably. He settled on the floor toppling over, unable to keep his balance.

Kat lets out a sort of giggle, watching him. "Don't hurt yourself. You gotta last until next year for this plan. " She says before yawning.

Shadow laughed as he slumped over."You got some wicked antics." Shadow said rolling on his back trying to make the ceiling stop spinning.
(I tired to go t sleep last night *captain Jack voice* I did not work)

Kat laughs shortly again, beginning to doze. She curls her tail around her, adjusting her wings to keep her warm.

Shadow fell asleep staring at the ceiling. Several hours late her woke feeling sick. He padded up to his room and began to vomit the contents of his stomach. The sickly sweet metallic smell filled the bathroom as the floor and sink were spattered with a reddish brown liquid that roughly resembled the last think He had drunk. His stomach emptied and he continued vomiting, his bile burning his throat.
(Hope you didnt eat breakfast. He only has to do this 16 more times.:3)
