Shadow gingerly lifted the bottle to her lips, giving small sips at a time. All the while he smiled, his lips curving almost unnaturally at the corners.

Katia drank what she could, feeling a tad better with water in her system.
Bella watched the two in silence while Kazia listened quietly.

"I told you the locket was good luck." Shadow said trying to make conversation. "I might not have found you if you had taken it off." He joked softly.

She smiled weakly. "Glad I had it on then..." She spoke ever so quietly.

Shadow smiled at her again. "You need some rest love." He said his tone gentle and insistent.

Kat shook her head, disagreeing to his statement, as she didn't want to return to her nightmares when she had just started feeling safe.

Shadow nodded knowingly, still smiling gently. "Alright. I'd still like to have you on the surface. It might not be the case but I feel I can keep you safer there. And regardless I do need to go back and fix whatever's going on with my chest sometime soon. I certainly won't make you do anything you don't want to but I do need to go up there soon. Like within the next 48 hours so no rush." He said thinking about the blood beginning to drain out at the bottom of his stitches. He was still deathly pale though it would be hard to see under the fine layer of dust that covered him.

"If you need to go, you can trust us to take care of her." Bella says.
"I wouldn't advise moving her unless we really have too right now dear, I'm sorry." Kazia adds.

"Yes of course. I'm sorry." Shadow said in agreement. He smiled apologetically and tried to untangle the knots in his hair once more, the dust at his feet being dotted with flakes of dried blood.

Katia fought how tired she was, trying to ignore her bodies cry for sleep for fear of the nightterrors that came with rest.

Shadow sighed knowing she was fighting to stay awake. He used the last of the white dust in his belt, stirring it in to a water bottle. "Sleep. No dreams. Only for emergencies." He whispered quietly, differing it to her

"I don't think that'll work..." Katia replies quietly,

"But it might. Would you try just a little? If I see you even twitch an eyelash I'll wake you up I promise. I won't go anywhere." Shadow encouraged. She was so obviously exhausted and it made him slightly tired himself, though he continued in the most unforceful way he could.

Katia gave in after a moment, nodding quietly.

Shadow gave her a few sips and sat back as the dust began to send her into a deep dreamless sleep.

Kazia sighed, checking the half demon's arms again quietly, while Bella sat silently nearby, nibbling on a leaf of deadly nightshade with worry on her face.

Shadow watched her face and her fingers, searching for any sign she was in distress. He nervously picked at his fingernails, hoping Kat would be okay in the long run.

Kat was still, the movement from her breathing barely visible. Kazia ran her claws lightly over Kat's scars, thinking to herself. Alyssium poked his head out from underneath Kat's cot, pink fur ruffled as if the cat had just woken up.

Shadow smiled glad to see the werecat for once. "Hey Alyssium glad to see you're still alive." He said only half joking.

"I'm guess I'm lucky...." He replies quietly, jumping up on the cot and lying down next to Katia, seeing her condition but not commenting on it, eyes dark.
"friends with an Aleshire cat?" Bella questions, a vauge look of disgust on her face.

"It was a strange set of circumstances Bell. He's not like his cousins or sibling or whatever." Shadow said a stern look in his eye. "Found him in the snow and Kat wanted him so we put him in a saddle bag. He woke up as a boy and it was all jolly happy whatever. Man that feels like forever ago." Shadow said dreamily.

"Aleshire cats are always bad news though... One just brings others, and before you know they've got a knife to your throat, little friend or not." Bella continues quietly to no one in particular. Alyssium didn't acknowledge her, keeping quiet, not moving an inch.
"I don't see this one causing trouble though dear, not all the way down here." Kazia adds, looking up from Katia's cursed scars. "He's a long way from home and Something tells me he doesn't want to go back." She continues. Alyss flicks his ear.

Shadow nodded agreeing with Kaz. "I think Kat will be alright now. This stuff is pretty potent. She shouldn't dream at all until she wakes up and that could be an hour or thirty depending on how physically exhausted she is. Bella I'm sort of bleeding out inside my chest cavity so I need to go perform a surgery or something before I explode splatting this place with looper. Please, don't leave her. Or if not I can stay, I'll probably live another few days if it's inconvenient." Shadow said shyly. He felt terrible for leaving her but the hole in his heart was tearing wider and it caused him great pain. He knew if not taken care of he could die rather quickly and he felt it'd be unfair to Kat. So tell her he'd stay, to promise and then go to take care of selfish needs.
(So now having a hole in your heart is selfish...annnd we see why he's so screwed up as a boy. Fun. :P)

"It's fine dear, we're not going anywhere. Go and come back, she'll understand if she wakes up." Kazia speaks softly.
"I could get you fixed in five minutes if you'd. Take me uptop and let me call an angel." Alyssium muttered, eyes on the ground.
