Shadow idly rubbed his neck where his mother's locket had been. "Do you still have my locket?" He asked happily.

She seemed to have to think for a moment before checking under her scarf and pulling out the locket after a second. "Yeah, I think this is it." She replies, showing it to him.

Shadow grazed his fingers over the carved silver for a moment, a sad look on his face. "Yes that's it. I'm glad you've kept up with it." He said his smile returning easily.

"I've made sure to keep up with everything....I don't want to loose anything important...." she replies quietly, a small hint of fear in her voice. She pulled all her plushes closer to her and tugged at her scarf quietly.

Shadow hugged her again noticing this small girl was much more vulnerable than the Kat he knew. It made him wonder how much pain and brokenness one has to experience to hide so well. This thought bothered him greatly and he held onto her tighter. "I'm so happy to s- be able to hear your voice again." Shadow said lovingly trying to make the girl feel a bit better.

"Nice seeing you again too" she replies warmly, curled up against him with her plushies in her arms. The trees rustles softly again with the nonexistent wind.

Katia messed with her plushes idly, seeming a bit drowsy. She adjusted clothing pieces on them and messed with their hair. "W-what's been going on?.... outside of here.... i-I know I've heard you a lot.... I think so anyways..." she murmurs, thinking.

Shadow sighed. "Yes, I was just speaking to a bad bad man. But I'm pretty sure he's going to help bring you back, so I'm trying not to shred him." He said a half smile on his face. "And I sang to you the other day. I sit outside the window on the roof at night. I check on you periodically. I don't know really were waiting for joker to show up and tell us we can take you back to the demonsplace so we can get you back." Shadow said his eyes watering slightly.

"Is that why I'm still here? .... I can come back?" She asks curiously.

"Yeah. I guess. THe changelings will bring your body back." Shadow said shortly, twirling some of his hair between his fingers as he thought. "Where is here anyways?" He asked poking her cheek.

"I'm still not sure... feels so familiar though.... like something out of a good dream." She replies quietly, looking up at the sky wistfully. "It's lonely here though.... it was just me and well, these dolls...." she continues softly.

"I won't leave you here. As long as I have control over where I am that is." Shadow said with a smile. "It's very nice here I agree. It's like 6's house minus 6. Very nice place." He said wistfully.

".... wanna see somthing I found?" Kat asks, wanting something to do whilw he was there. "It's where I was before you came. I like to sit there to think." She adds idly.

"Anything you want." Shadow said happily. He took her hand and followed happily, running his free hand through the floating water droplets.

She led him deeper into the trees and up a small hill. The trees thinned and opened into a small clearing. This area was more dense with the water drops , and among them floated the sweet smelling flowers and flower buds as well. A few stacks of books had been neatly placed under a few of the trees around the clearing and a few floated in the air, as if the clearing held no gravity. Kat grabbed a large book from nearby and tossed it into the clearing. Instead of falling it simply floated in the direction it was thrown until it landed on the other side, falling once it reached the trees. She watched Shadow for a reaction, her eyes bright, and a small smile upon her lips.

Shadow laughed in amazement throwing himself into eh vortex of anti gravity. As he floated his eye turned white and his vision returned completely. A smile curved into his face immediately and he swam around in the air. Soon his hair and clothes were wet with the droplets and he looked down to Kat. "I can see you." Was all he said, tears of pure joy and happiness joining the droplets all around him.

Kat floated quietly below, watching him blissfully, tears welling up in her eyes as well. The four plushies tied to her scarf floated around her weightlessly. "R-really?I'm so happy for you!"she replies, words excited and gleeful.

(*paps* SHUSHUSHUSHSUSHUSHSUUU TIS PURRFECTS)
Shadow dove down towards her and wrapped her up in a tight hug. He let his wings spread out beside him. They became surrounded in long black feathers as Shadow spun hem around laughing gaily as he held her. In that moment, in this perfect and strange world, he was okay. He was infinitely okay in this place and had no desire to ever leave.

Kat laughed softly, finding Shadows joy intoxicating. She buried her face in his chest, crying happily, so glad to be able to see shadow and be close to him.
After a minute however, when her laughter died down, her crying couldn't stop. The drops floated off into the air, spiraling around them between the striking flowers.

Shadow let her go a bit to look at her face. He tilted her chin up slightly brushing away her tears gently. "What's wrong love? Are you hurt?" He asked his voice soothing and sweet.

She sniffled "s-sorry... it's nothing.... just my head that's all..." she replies quietly, trying to blink away more tears.

Shadow smiled sweetly poking her temple. "I like your head. There's nothing to cry about here. It's all okay. Promise." He said his voice just as sweet as the fanged smile that seemed to be deeper into his face than normal.

She nodded, sniffling again quietly, her tears now finally stopping. "Alright, I trust you." She replies softly, the plushie of him still held tightly in one of her hands.

Shadow smiled happily and wrapped his wings around her, feeling safer than he had in years. "This place is good." He whispered more to himself than anyone else.
